The Book

There aren't many bookbinders left in NYC, Henry - who's workshop is in the basement of a synagogue in Chinatown - has been re-covering bibles and binding dissertations for 25 years. He bound the collection of notes and photos to Grandpa Speed but when I asked for his photo he told me he "had a face for radio." So I snagged some from NYT below (mixed with a few images of the book). When I asked Henry what fonts he had to choose from for the cover, he politely said "no."

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Speed, it was really special for us to see the way you've impacted many lives, including ours.
