Happy 80th, Speed

Happy Birthday, Speed!

Paul Kittlaus

(Friend)

I remember a time years ago when you had been visiting and had departed. My brother arrived and I realized how much more you were my brother than he was/is. The shared experience, traumas in our marriages, the work and joy of getting to know each other all over again in the context of new marriages, the risks taken to respond to what I believe was a call to offer ourselves to the world as value driven, caring men seeking to give and perfect what gifts of mind, heart and action we had to help create a more just and peaceful world—those things bound us to each other in ways I have always celebrated and given thanks for.

Never told you all this, did I? So it’s time I do.

Plus one other thing. You saw potential in me and asked me to join you in the development of COMMIT and from that, for me, many hundreds of doors opened up for my life and career. Thanks for seeing what you saw and risking that I would find ways of stimulating creativity and energy together for all that. Time to say thanks for that.

Our friendship is a precious gift to me and I feel it from your side too. Good for us….and that we lived long enough to get around to saying a few things that needed to be said.

Happy 80th!

Paul
