Dear Speed,

When we met 60 years ago, I knew immediately that you possessed special talents and that you would actualize them and use them to help people and institutions. You have fulfilled these beyond all expectations.

And when we first met, I never dreamed that we would become lifelong friends who would get to spend their 70s and 80s in the same area and church. These years have been a special time and blessing for me. I am especially grateful for them.

Happy 80th, cherished friend, and may you have many more with good health and increasing joy.

And as we say in Italian: A cento—onward to 100!
