A memory I have of Speed is the incredible gift he gave me and Maggie by officiating our wedding. We spoke with Speed about our lives and goals, and he wrote a beautiful and poignant message for us. Speed spoke about two pillars, each independent and strong in their own right, both supporting a structure.

These words left a huge impact on our lives. It’s something we think about and reference to each other and to ourselves often.

I didn’t grow up knowing my grandparents. They were back in Argentina, and I’ve only met them once or twice before the age of 8. I was a teenager by the time they passed, so I never really got to enjoy that relationship.

Getting to know Speed and Connie these past few years, I feel like I’m making up on lost time. It’s clear Speed and Connie have been pillars for their friends and family over the years. I feel lucky to have a new grandfather.
