Dear Speed,

It has been fun to be part of your life over many years, and we welcome you to the freedom that graces our special group of the 80 year olds!! (Heidi still has a almost a year to go but she has long claimed the freedom that comes only later to some of us).

Have a most happy birthday and do not fear the 80’s. They may be just a new beginning. We have observed here at Pilgrim Place that those of us in our 80’s have a clearly observable increase in the degree of freedom that emerges when we reach that time. And we are in awe of some of neighbors who are 100 and over. So move ahead as if you have 20 more years. Raise hell and have a good twenty ahead of you.
