Happy Birthday, Speed!
Jerry Fitzmaurice and Connie Lum
(Old Pal from High School)
Unfortunately I cannot think of anything funny that we did. The only 2 things I can think of that are marginally funny are not worth sending. But they are: my sister was told that Speed was in Northern CA somewhere. I checked with Sacramento, Redding and SF could not find him. Then on a trip with Connie, we were in Boulder Creek in an antique shop and just casually mentioned to them if anyone knew Speed. What serendipity?! Because the gal said that Speed lives here in Boulder Creek so I gave her my card and number to give to Speed. Of course Speed called and the 4 of us met up.
The only other thing that is not terribly funny was when John Neal, a friend of Speed’s parked by Roosevelt High. John in the driver’s seat, Speed in the passenger seat and I was sprawled out in the back seat. It was at that time that we were critically interested in the Korean War and we spent endless nights and hours discussing how we got there and how we could get out and we had that conversation many times.
So that’s for my marginally funny stories.
Sorry our last trip fell through, but my back is now manageable and we can take another shot at getting together somewhere.
Love you and miss you,
Jerry & Connie
